School Dinner Menu:

Our Catering Facilities

Humber Education Trust is delighted to outsource our catering provision to North Yorkshire Education Services (NYES).

NYES has been delivering high-quality school meals for over 40 years and currently operates in more than 240 education settings across Yorkshire. Their service is well-established, continually evolving to meet current food standards and trends, while remaining firmly committed to nutritious, balanced and great-tasting meals.

🥗 NYES provides a three-week rotating menu, which includes:

  • a hot meal or grab-and-go option (depending on age group and setting)

  • a choice of healthy side dishes

  • fresh bread

  • a well-stocked salad bar (where requested)

Menus are designed to be appealing, inclusive and nutritionally balanced.

Free School Meals (FSM)

💡 How to Claim Free School Meals

Many families are eligible for Free School Meals but do not currently claim them.

Parents and carers can apply online via Hull City Council – My School Portal:

✔ Applications can be made on any device with internet access
✔ An immediate provisional decision is provided
✔ Online applications are fast-tracked

📣 Please apply if:

  • you think you may be eligible

  • you are unsure whether you are eligible

  • your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2

Even if your child currently receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, applying still benefits the school.

Why Applying Matters

If your child is eligible:

  • they will receive free school meals

  • the school receives additional funding to support learning and wellbeing

Our school uses this funding to:

  • subsidise meals so KS2 meals remain at £1.70 per day

  • ensure no charge for Reception and KS1 meals

Paper Application Option

📝 If you are unable to apply online, you can download a paper application form, complete it, and return it to the school office for processing.

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to apply if your child attends a Hull school or sixth form full-time and you receive one of the following:

  • Income Support

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • Guaranteed element of Pension Credit

  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after eligibility ends)

  • Universal Credit (household income under £7,400 per year, after tax and excluding benefits)

Children who receive these benefits in their own right may also be eligible.

Important Information

📅 Once eligible, children remain eligible until the end of their current phase of education (primary or secondary).

📌 Please apply even if your child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, as the school still receives valuable additional funding.
