St Nicholas as part of the Humber Education Trust (HET)

At St Nicholas we are very proud to be part of The Humber Education Trust. We are one of 11 schools; 2 special schools and 9 primary schools.  We joined the Trust on the 1st September 2017.

We share the HET’s vision to deliver the very best educational experience for all children and young people. We have already benefited from the excellent support from HET and have thrived on the challenges set by the Trust.  We share a clear focus on raising standards, encouraging innovation and celebrating the ethos of the Trust which is to ensure that we have a positive impact on all of the children and young people within our individual school and as part of the Trust.

We are working hard together as a team. We all have high aspirations and moral values. We care and support each other; whilst at the same time we celebrate our individual uniqueness.

Consultation – Executive Summary

Nine primary schools and two special schools within the Hull City region have formed a new Multi Academy Trust and have called this trust the Humber Education Trust (HET). The governing bodies of all twelve schools have resolved to take this proposed action.

Between the dates 13th March 2017 to 21st April 2017 a robust consultation process was undertaken with the aim of ensuring that all stakeholders who wished to were able to make their views known about this proposal. The consultation was designed to ensure that stakeholders were able to raise informed questions and make informed comments. All comments and questions were recorded and are included in this report. A variety of media have been used and care has been taken to ensure accessibility at all times both in terms of physical factors (DDA compliance of venues for example) and intellectual factors (minimal use of jargon and acronyms).

On compilation of all feedback and data received, the conclusion that was drawn was that there were no apparent legitimate reasons why HET could not be established according to the timescales outlined. The overwhelming view was that this was a positive move for all the schools.

Humber Education Trust (HET)

What is the HET?

HET is a group of schools working in partnership to deliver the best possible educational experience and educational outcomes for our pupils.

We already have a strong and effective partnership but we wanted to take this to the next level and form a Multi Academy Trust (MAT). We have chosen Humber Education Trust (HET) as the name for our new MAT and have designed a logo to show who we are and what we do.

Why was HET created?

Coming together into HET means we can plan and deliver learning and support for our children in closer collaboration and use our collective resources more effectively to get better value for money.

We can also share our individual expertise and skills more easily and readily as we all strive for excellence.
